Don't let this man influence you, they are not all like that. For sure I sound like that wife, but there's no way m hubby would cheat on me, obviously she thinks he wouldn't either, but people are stupid.

There are good guys out there, there really are.

He trimmed a little too aggressive now I have a sore horse (unless it's the BOSS I just started giving him causing problems). Also trying to get a large toe crack to grow out. Oh and I found that he's got a bit of White Line Disease going on since he was flared so badly then had shoes put on without the flare being dealt with.

On the up side, this has already been a year of learning for me. I know more about the function and design of the hoof than I ever have before. I am learning to trim on my own and how to care for his feet to hopefully have him be able to go barefoot or in front boots by next spring. I've also learned a ton about nutrition.

Happy Happy Birthday MHF! Hope it was fantastic. See if you can milk it til the end of the week. I always tell people it's my birthday week. Worth a try ;)
Thank you, I like that plan! Hope you get everything straightened out with your guy. Sounds like a rough go. I've thought about learning to trim, farrier has offered to teach me but even after a lifetime with horses I'm uber paranoid I'd screw them up and end up hating myself. I'm good with a bit of clean up rasping here and there but am sure there is no way could I do a balanced enough job to approve of my own work. No doubt I'd fire myself.

Thanks! No need to apologize and no pouting. That's all.

Agreed! There are good guys out there, far & few between but they exist.

Paige, sorry to hear about being in a "rut". It happens. Dan & I have lived together for almost 13 years now. We've had a few ruts over the years, it sucks but they will pass. I can imagine that the stress you've had as of late plays a big part in it. Seems like for me anyway that when there is general chaos it spills over into that part of our relationship too. Deep breath, get through what you've got going on currently and then try to make time for the two of you. Even if it's something as simple as walking in the dark in silence or having him wash your hair. The little things seem to make the biggest difference.

Sorry for not keeping up, I hope you are all ok and doing well.
I don't think you did post it, or if you did, I missed it. I've just heard May is Foster Care Month all over the radio.

I hope kid 4 settles in for you.

Welcome to the gang Charley! :)

Guys - DD had a MAJOR breakthrough today on the pony... can I just say i love this pony and what she has done for us... she was walking/trotting around in the round lunging ring (in Ireland I can't justify calling it a roundpen, as it isn't used in the same way) when out of nowhere she asks if she can ride in the big arena tomorrow if its nice... my jaw hit the floor as only 3 weeks ago she wouldn't get off the lunge line.. heck 5 months ago she had lost so much confidence she didnt ever want to ride again. I told her she could go on in today if she wanted, and off she went. She didn't just walk around the entire arena, she was asking for a trot, circling and properly trying to ride. *happy dance* Did I mention I love this pony???

Stop for a minute, open your mind, learn. You may not agree with what I say, I may not agree with what you say but we will both learn something new.
