Charley, they are both really cute!

Today I went on a 2 hour round trip to pick up mower parts for our broken hay mower. Then trimmed a mini for a client, picked up the kids at school, and am getting ready to go cut back some dead limbs on a tree in my pasture. And I am so far behind in laundry it's ridiculous. I really need to give the dogs a bath but I seriously doubt it will happen today. Fingers crossed we can get some hay up Friday, I am all out of squares and I'm tired of peeling hay off a round bale to feed in the barn.

I need a vacation. When are we all going to the beach again? Lol. And can I bring margaritas instead of beer?

That's a big yes to the margaritas!!! I only like one kind of beer, well 2 but would much prefer tasty girly drinks. If I could make a change the second flip flop would say bring vodka...and lemonade. I'm ready for a vaca. I'm hoping I will find myself on a beach in the fall after summer craziness is over. Ahhh. I'll gladly split the cost of my fave beach house to stay at! There's room for 10.

Snapped a few quick pics of my little man this morning. Hard to believe he is almost 2. So here's Merit, growing up and greying out. He's about hit the 15hh mark, so now I want him to stop going up and start filling out. I don't need a 16 hand cutting horse

We've went from this cute little week old guy
To a horse looking almost 2 yr old. Ready for him to get out of the weedy stage. Sigh.

Charley - love the pics.

Apachie - Sounds busy, hope you get a chance to put the feet up soon.

MHF - If I lived in a country that warranted going to the beach, I'd love a pair of those! When we go to the beach we have to dress warmer than usual cus it's so freakin cold lol. Hope that deal includes pitchin in for airfare for a certain someone.. *coughcough*. Merit if GORGEOUS. I think I'm in love!

Drafty - Congrats on the anniversary. I'm 5 years at job #1 this week. No risk of getting sent home early for me haha :)

DD and the pony did great again today. No small arena, straight into the big arena she went. Nod is shedding out well, so fingers crossed we're all good to go for the first show of the year - June 8th. DD even went over a few trotting poles and walked over a small cross rail - which resulted in a scream of terror followed by a fit of laughter. I'm undecided is she liked it or not haha

We'll be competing in three classes this year - show pony lead rein, local lead rein and a fancy dress. We're still trying to iron out plans for fancy dress - we were going with "needle in a haystack" but now DD wants to go with "lil bo peep". Anybody have other, affordable, suggestions?

Job #2 sent me a text today - I'm workin Thurs, Fri, Sat and Mon nights. I was hopin he would have me do Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon instead of Thurs since he knows I work job #1 Thurs, Fri and Sat :( I'm also still waiting to be paid for the first week... from somebody else I was told it apparently its normal for lower end job to always back pay one week - so that they are always a week behind? Any of you hear of this before?

The BO told me yesterday they are having a yard BBQ on Sat.. part of me wants to go cus I know very few of the other liveries and it will give me a chance to get to know them. The other part of me knows I'm goin to want to head straight to bed from workin all hours of the day/night ... decisions, decisions lol.

Stop for a minute, open your mind, learn. You may not agree with what I say, I may not agree with what you say but we will both learn something new.

If I had the money to burn you bet but sadly I am horse rich and money poor

Thanks, Merit is a pretty good boy. Looks wise, a few things I'd tweak but he should make a pretty nice gelding. I had no intention of keeping him and had a standing offer on him but DD adores him and I adore his disposition so he lost his danglies and got to stay. I'll get him for a few years and then DD will get him for an all around gelding. If he stays as willing to learn as he is now he should make a pretty good jack of all trades. He's had all the prep work done and is ready to ride...the wait to climb on him is killing me!

Did someone say beach house?? And Margaritas? I'm all in baby!

I got nothing done today. Stupid right eye was to blurry to do any grooming today. Moved clients to tomorrow. Hopefully eye will be done throwing a fit by then.

Maple: Glad to hear DD was still all about the big arena today! Hopefully the scream was just a reaction and she really was enjoying herself.

Mandy, what's wrong with a 16hh cutting horse? I bet Aires could do it (at 16.2hh). Actually, he was 15hh when I got him as a 2yo. Now we're hovering around 16.2hh and he still looks weedy as hell. Hard to believe he turned four a week ago.

Thanks! Can't wait to be able to tell you how he rides. If he hits 16hh, he'll just have to be the very cutting bred hunter jumper hahaha.

Hope everyone had a good day. Weather was amazing today, got a lot of yard work done & rode 5 horses. :)

Aw, come on, MH! I want to see a 16hh cutter!

We had a gorgeous day, as well. It looks like Saturday might be pretty stormy, though. SPC called it a "dangerous setup". Just in time for my niece's graduation barbecue.

Charley, your horses are adorable!

Maple, I hope you get plenty of rest this week.

Drafty, I hope you enjoyed your relaxation!
