Horselovin, tooth pain is the worst. Been there. Had three root canals in the past couple years. Still have to get the crowns put on them but it costs stupid amounts of money and insurance only goes so far.

Glad you are getting a reprieve from the stupidity, Drafty.

Demon, to the best of my knowledge, cryptos are sterile, so no worrying about baby issues. They do tend to get aggressive if its not surgically corrected though.

B2H, I am definitely doing Motrin. It does help a little. Try to get some rest! You are as busy as the rest of us!

Big hugs all around! Trying to get caught up...my brain is in slow mo this morning though

Apachie, I ended up a drowned rat yesterday too. It was beautiful & sunny then bam, came down in buckets. I had to herd 22 chicks back into their house, I can only imagine how amusing it would have been to see and then a couple of horses that were in one of the private lots that doesn't have a lean to built in it yet (there is a mare & foal staying here - not mine - will see if she's cool with me sharing the story & pics, he's a cute little bugger).

Finally got some answers about my grandma. Good news, it's not cancer! It does however stem from her heart problems. She has congestive heart failure and has had 2 major surgeries in the last few years (one was 16 hours and the second 12 hours) and there's not much more they can do there. The blood is backing up, cycling around and is ending up in her liver. Conclusion between heart & liver specialist. They think the bleeding is likely in many places internally and it is what it is at this point. So the plan for now is to get her iron built back up in her bone marrow, she has to do iron transfusions weekly for the next 2 months and transfusions as needed. Then from there who knows. I feel like a ton of weight has been lifted. One less major stressor in my life is a very welcome thing.

I think it's going to be a good day! DD's last soccer game of the season in a couple hours. If they pull this one out they will have had an undefeated season, well one tie but we aren't counting that Will try to snap a couple pics with just my peanut, if I can manage it I will share when I get back. Second good of the day, my favorite lesson kid is coming out for the first lesson of the season. She's such a busy kid and now is finally slowing down with her other stuff that she has time to come see me. I'm excited! She's been riding with me for almost 4 years now. She's a good little rider and a great kid. It's fun having students that you truly enjoy.

Oh and I will have to take pics of my garden fence, you all will get a good laugh out of it. I took one end of my arena for one of my veg gardens. Had to do a temp fence so none of my lesson kiddos would take out my veggies. It's amusing.

Mandy, I'm so happy to hear about your grandmother! What great news.

B2H, you have my thoughts and prayers. I feel much as you do, regarding this thread. Everyone on here is AWESOME!!!

Apachie, hope that elbow gets better soon, and I'm glad you saved most of your hay. My friend that grows alfalfa is having the same worries right now. He cut a field the other day, and it's been really humid, so he's having a hard time getting it dried out. We have a strong chance of severe weather today, so that definitely would not help!

Horselovin, I hope your tooth issues get taken care of quickly. I don't think there's much worse than a toothache.

My ribs started hurting this morning, and every time that happens, I'm terrified that I'm getting shingles again. So don't want to do that! I had them five times in a year, and let me tell you, NOT FUN.

Hope everyone has a stellar weekend!

Oh, and Drafty, I'm so glad Robert put his foot down! You must be so uncomfortable being in that situation, and it's wonderful that you don't have to deal with the brother any more.

Congrats everyone on the good news!
    Love seeing that!

I'm hosting a fish fry at the house today... No ride for me. Cleaning like a mad woman!
Veggies to roast, salsa to make, corn bread to bake, ahhhhh!!! The fish is straight out of the river and should be delish... If I can find the dam gas intake to the fryer... It's somewhere... In the barn...

Who cares about a little dust on the floor right? Lol!

I went to town yesterday to get all the fixins and do some retail therapy... I'm now officially broke.
Gahhhhh! Groceries are too darn expensive!
It's insanity! $300 for one cart of food?
I remember when $75 got you as much! Does that mean I'm getting old? Lol!

Hope all continues to go well with you guys!

$300 for a cart full of groceries.
No it does not mean you are getting old it means one of three things.
    1 you impulse buy
2 your economy is catching up with ours on the down ward trek and the
    $ has no value
3 you are in the wrong business and should be in food retail
4 added and extra, the product you get from china is highly over priced.

There is a solution. Get someone else to pay the bill.

Mandy, I had a former kid who had iron transfusions. Blood too, but the iron ones made him feel great, he was a different kid after he had them. Painless and just feel good when you have been feeling weak.

I hope your grandma has the same feel goods from it. If you can be there, then do so, and have a camera, their face when they start feeling it, is pic worthy. :)

Mandy - yay for answers! How did DD get on with her soccer game?

Drafty & Demon - Huge hugs your way. Drafty: You are a saint, I would have blown a gasket at this stage (I an renowned for digging myself a giant hole when losing my cool with people).

B2H - Delighted you found time to pop in! :)

Apachie, Horselovin, Affored - Hope your different ailments shift themselves soon.

Affored - I was kicked in the ribs 7ish years ago by a horse.. to this day I understand rib pain. Ouchies.

Flygap - Don't talk to me about groceries costing too much! We switched from one grocery store (Irish run) to another (full of imported foods and we can't read the labels) because there is a giant different in prices. A full trolly in the Irish owned shop would easily cost €300, a full trolly in the other only €100. And then the Gov runs ads to "buy Irish".... if I could afford to, I would! Seriously, €50 for ONE bag (and I have to pay for the bag) of food?!?

Got through my last day of both jobs (for this week) last night yay!. Leavin the pub last night was erm.. fun. I had to park my car at the end of the big town carpark as the town was so busy. Half way there I come across a girl sitting in the middle of a junction with one shoe on. I couldnt just leave her there, so had to help her up and try and encourage her towards the road to get her a taxi. She was fluterd drunk and getting her up was a task in itself. Finally got her up, fell numerous times enroute to the road, get her to just beside the road and down she goes again.... infront of a car full of lads. Would they get out to help me get her up - not a hope. Finally one of my bosses happened to be leaving and came over to give me a hand getting her up and we flagged down a taxi for her. I learned a few things from this experience. ...

    1) I have never been so drunk I could fall over... and never will be
    2) Other people are ignorant prats
    3) Incredibly drunk people are quite possibly the heaviest things EVER. Seriously, I can shift a cast horse and I can't pick up a drunk girl!?! She weighed like a sack of spuds!
3 b) I now know that should I be attacked, as instructed by self-protection people, I will go down like a limp noodle and be said sack of spuds... they won't have a hope of getting me anywhere.
    4) The day of stickin with friends and making sure you get home safely at the end of the night is long gone. Sad really.

I've woken up this morning (it is before noon, and I was workin til after 4am) to find DH has taken the kids off. Last night before work DH made a snarky remark about me prob wantin to sleep all day.... yes I did want to sleep half the day after only getting about 12 hours sleep the last THREE days. Anyway, I'm not home alone.. watchin the racing catch up. Bummer is they took my car :( I wouldn't mind as much, but I thought the house was proper quiet, so had popped my head into the hall and could hear the telly! I would have stayed on in bed if I had known they were gone off - alas the contacts are now in so what to do.... suppose there is a giant pile of laundry I could start on...

Soccer went great! They won 4-3, DD scored twice. So that makes a pretty much undefeated season if we don't count the tie and DD has scored every game. It's been a fun year, she's really starting to pick it up and I am amazed at how much more athletic my kid is than I ever was. Team sports just weren't my thing.

This pic makes me laugh. The boy who usually begs to be goalie missed the game so DH (he's their coach) rotated a few of them through the goal. DD hadn't played goalie all season and she didn't hide that she was none too pleased about it. I asked her afterwards why she looked so grumpy in the box and she says "Mom, I don't like waiting on the ball."

She's a much happier kid playing offense.

Oh and a crappy cell pic of my garden "fences" Would it make me completely crazy if I were to drag out my brush & flower boxes?

Congrats on her win. Mine don't like playing goalie either, lol.

I love the "fence". A couple winters ago I had one section of arena that in stayed a soggy mess, and I was afraid the horses would get used to cutting the corner off, so I built a temp fence out of caution tape. Yours looks much better. But yes, I would add flower boxes underneath to make it a more solid wall.

Maple, I learned several of those drunken people rules when I was in college. My roomie weighed twice what I did and I had to get her up three flights of stairs one night. This was after she had fallen off a toilet and pulled a shower curtain and rod down on both our heads (I was helping her in and out of the bathroom).

I probably will. I have a few lessons today and there are little sisters that come along and usually play with DD while big sister rides, think I will let the littles fill flower boxes & decorate the garden fence.

One of my students yesterday got a good laugh out of it. She rides a 13hh Haffy, she says "Mandy, I don't think Kate would willingly jump that high but when you have goodies in there she might try to limbo under to grab a snack..." Made me think that I should put up some of the gates & picket fence jumps instead of just a rail
