Thanks outnabout! It's always good to meet another Texan on here! WE're going out again on Thursday. We're gonna have a couple more people riding with us. And we'll go a bit longer. I'm hoping it'll be a bit more relaxing than the last one!

Congratulations to Heidi and wishing you both many more wonderful rides. I would also like to thank you for posting as this subject is very close to me as I just had my hip replacement 11/29/2012. I had taken a fall off a horse back in Sept of 2010, fractured my hip, and they repaired it using 3 screws. Unfortunately I developed AVN and bone loss so the screws came loose. I had continued to ride up until 2 weeks before my THR and was so looking forward to being able to ride after my 6 week f/u. Unfortunately the Doc said no and my next f/u is not until the end of Feb which would be the 3 mth mark. Actually I was so upset when he told me that I was not to ride that I forgot to even ask if he will release me at the 3 mth mark. Like Heidi I have been hard pressed not to just go ride but have held off until now. However I can hardly stand it. I so wish that I would have been able to ask questions.I wonder if he is afraid I will fall or is it the position of riding itself. I dont want to take silly chances with my future but I really need to get back to riding before I go crazy.. Did you guys have discussions with Heidi's doctor concerning when she could start riding again? I would appreciate anything you have to share on the subject. Thank you

Congratulations Heidi!
She is most definitely, a brave woman. Would love to see her progress.

I've been nervous around horses ever since one of my riding accidents. Your wife is a huge inspiration to me.
