    It is about time!

So in May I sent my older super green broke mare to the trainer (smrobs) finally. She needed to be sent 2 years ago but we just couldn't afford it with me in school. Now that I have graduated and have a job (yay!) I am able to get my horses the help they need. Lucy my mare is doing pretty good. Of course she is an older mare so I think it just takes a little longer for her to get stuff. I think she is coming along nicely from the updates I get and I can not wait until she gets back because I know she is going to be AWESOME even if it takes a little longer than we first thought.

Then comes our little pony. Her name is Little Luci but I have been calling her Little as of late. I have employed a local trainer and his nephew to train her. She is only 12hh and so it is hard to find a trainer that is small enough to take her on. THey rode her yesterday. It was the first time I have ever seen that pony go faster than a walk! She is a fast little thing!! I was so impressed with them. She is a stubborn girl but they really made her move. They will be working with her probably 2-3 days a week. I was super impressed and she was super sweaty when they got done. She is going to be a great little pony for my 4 year old.

Then comes Hank. Hank is my gelding. He is a registered QH and ex race horse. He isn't afraid of anything. He just needs to be ridden. If she is able I would like to drop him off for a month or so with smrobs for some refinement if she is able to take him.

I am so happy to be able to finally be able to have rideable horses that we can enjoy. I know it is something I should have done a long time ago but at least I am doing it now right?? Hopefully this time next summer we will be on our horse vacation!

Below is a pic of Little after her ride. She was a little sweaty!
