I am so excited for the Olympics this year - the equestrian sports are going to be a thrill to watch! This guy is awesome, proves to all of us that riding is a life long sport.

I couldn't open the link here at work but is that the Japanese guy? If so, how great is that?

Yep...that's him. Wouldn't be fantastic if he actually won a medal?

That is awesome! There are some ladies at our local shows who still compete in games in their 60/70s. I want to still have the passion to compete when I'm older like that!

I hope that we get some good footage of the Equestrine Events. I am not big on a lot of the other things.

Any young person of today can hope to ride in their 70s. Whether you succeed is decided by matters outside of your control. Being born under a lucky star helps. However whether you are fit to ride is dependent upon whether you have taken care of your physical and mental fitness and how successful you have been during your life of earning the money to support your riding.

Choosing to compete at the highest level is a very different matter. However some of the most famous names in horse riding were probably in their 70s. My suspicion is that they were born with talent.

PS The best place to watch the equine games is on the TV - getting to Greenwich Park might prove to be tricky.

I've been successful enough (so far) to support my two backyard ponies but certainly did not get the lucky sprinkle of stardust to be a talented rider! LOL

Given the time delay between here and there, I may be surreptitiously watching on the internet whilst I should be working to support those two backyard ponies!
