For all you Fresian lovers.

I picked up a horse from a client today that is 1/4 Fresian 1/4 Morgan and 1/2 QH and she said she thought the horse might be gaited. Friesians are not gaited are they? She didn't move like she was gaited but all I did was load her in the trailer and unload her at home.

Aren't Morgans gaited? I know that wasn't your question but that's all I could think of. I don't know if Fresians are.

Morgans can be gaited. They are not all gaited, but it does happen. So it may be possible..
Friesians are not.
Man, I bet she's pretty, though =P

Friesians were originally bred to be cart horses (and of course still are in some parts), so their trot is often a little 'flouncier' than most. Not my kind of horse, honestly. Morgans can be gaited, as others have said.

Friesians were not originally cart horses, they were war horses, that is why they were originally such heavy things, they were bred into being cart and funeral/parade horses and became more slender and fine...

Anyhoo, Kevin there is a slight chance the horse is truly gaited being it has a touch or Morgan in it, or it might just be a great smooth moving animal, you wont know until you actually work it really. Let us know what you figure out.

She is pretty nice looking. She is probably 15.3 and 1200lbs, buckskin with no white at all on her. I'll see about posting some pictures of her when she gets cleaned up and I start riding her.
