I'm lucky in that regard, my best friend has horses and keeps them with mine. We ride together, compete together, do everything horsey together, Its like we both own all the horses. If I didn't have her to share it with I dunno what i'd do :[

Awww, sweetie ... *Big Hugs* That sounds really rough. I have to admit though, I don't really know what it feels like, because my good friend and I share the responsibilities of Jubilee, so we can always talk about stuff like this. Is there any way you can move barns? I know that's a really big step and may not be possible. Does your barn have few boarders, or are they just really unfriendly? I agree with what Maureen said about a Horse Expo. Go to as many shows as you can too, just to watch. And you know what they always say, "To make a friend you have to be a friend." I know its cliched, but its actually true. If you see someone in need at your barn, be really friendly, help them, start a conversation. Try not to be afraid to put yourself out there. I know its hard, I can get very shy sometimes myself. But good luck hun and feel free to send over a PM if you need to.

Aww thanks! Ya my barn has like 6 boarders, half of them are never out there, and they're all older and have known eachother for years and years. They're nice, but not friendly, if that makes sense. I've been there for over a year and still feel like an outsider. BUT the barn owner takes care of thunder and I don't feel like I have to worry about him if im not out there everyday, so changing barns at this point is unnecessary. I can't find a horse association for oregon, so ill keep googling and see if there's something I can find. Thanks for the posts :)

No problem. Yeah, I totally understand about not wanting to change barns. Don't give up though! Just take this alone time as a blessing in disguise to develop a real human-to-horse bond with Thunder.

Im in the same boat also!
Partner said yesterday "all your worried about is horses" ,
    Geez.. jelous much.
My mum wants me to sell my horse because she doesnt like them.
I try to talk to them about it and just get ignored.
I know no one else with horses, and the pony club I go to is on holidays and that 2x a month is the only time I get together with horsey people.
It sux and makes you want to give up.
But I love what I do,i love my horse and that's all that counts.
I ride bymyself all the time,im just used to it now.
But it would be nice to associate with people who have the same interests.
Your not alone, theres others in your sitution too.all over the world lol

I found this- Horse Previews Magazine - Plans are announced for 2009 Northwest Horse Fair & Expo

Here is a club I loaded the map since I'm not sure where you are http://www.bcho.org/chapterlocations.htm although they look like they are more into trail preservation that can be a cool thing.

OMG that's so awesome!!! I had no idea how you found that but I am so freakin excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!! I've been to a steve rother clinic, so that's awesome that he'll be there omg omg omg you have no idea how excited I am. Do you go to something like that everyday and trailer your horse everyday? What if you want to walk around, do you leave thehorse in the trailer? How does that work?
And it's only a couple hours away--2 at the most!
