    Amazing day!!

Woot I cantered Reeco for the first time ever today. I was just out on a hack and pushing his trot forwards, trying to establish some lengthening of the stride and work towards medium trot (that is a long way off but you have to start with some lengthening first).

Anyway Reeco decided that lengthening was obviously too hard and popped into canter! No Fuss no explosions, nothing. I had expected an explosion of epic proportions when I started working on canter. That is Reeco's default reaction to being unsure, explosion and then bolt.

He just happily swang a long with ears forwards, came back to trot when asked and was generaly a saint about the whole thing.

Unfortunatly Allison I generaly don't have anyone around when I ride and I have yet to master the art of takeing photos of myself whilst riding.

Reeco and I had a lesson last weekend from an eventer who is on the GB team. She loved him thought he was absolutly lovely and would make a cracking eventer for a young rider. He did some stunning work in walk and trot, got canter on a 20m circle on both reins on the correct leg. He attempted to stick his ears up my nose in canter but that will sort itself out given time and confidence

    You lucky thing!
You and I seem to be working on the same sort of lines with our ponios.
At the moment I'm trying to get Duffy to sit back more so she's not cantering downwards.. time and muscle!

I'm dreading hacking out, but that's me not the horse- glad it went so well for you!
