Another Hurricane Coming.. -.-

As some of you from the Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, or Texas area may know, we have another hurricane coming, Isaac. As if Katrina wasn't enough. Chief just got over his hurt foot, thank goodness, still going to soak it and give him medicine because I probably won't be able to get out to the barn for a couple days. Of course, we're also right in it's path, (New Orleans.)

Anyone planning on doing anything with their horses for this one?

Gosh - good luck - I just saw it on the news. RIght straight into the heart of LA. I'm in central TX (northwest of Houston) and we were wondering if it was going to turn our way. We haven't had a bad one in many many years...I was just a little girl when Alicia hit, and that was the only one I remember that actually kept its strength up so far inland that it actually blew stuff around where I was living.

Are you under evac orders yet? Keep us posted - says it is supposed to hit on Tuesday I think?

We are in Southwest Louisiana and not expecting too much, maybe just some rain and wind. So, we don't have any plans to move out like with did for Rita and Gustav. Good luck to you!

I'll be weathering it over here in Gulfport. We're in an "A" flood zone, right off the ocean. We might have to move to higher ground, but we'll be finding out more tomorrow.

Think of it not as a failure but as a success in how not to do it.

I dont mean to sound rude, but why are people making such a big deal out of Isaac? It isn't even going to get past cat. 1.

Maybe it's because I grew up in FL and I've been through more bad storms that a lot of people, but come on.

It is on the anniversary of Katrina, and people down here, in my experience, are paranoid as all get out that it might be another Katrina. The storm has slowed down and is getting stronger, winds are predicted to be in the 90 mph range, and possibly go higher. And, depending on where it hits, South Mississippi at least may see a lot of wind and flood damage in the bay areas. Some are anticipating tornadoes to come about because of the high winds hitting this side of Mississippi. Power outages are probably a given.

Six feet swells might put my apartment under water if the storm comes during high tide, and they're predicting twelve foot swells. I really don't want to be under water.

It could go either way though. A lot of people think it will be pretty easy to weather, but that isn't stopping them from buckling down like it might be a cat 3 or worse.

Think of it not as a failure but as a success in how not to do it.

Praying for you all! Hope it hauls tail up here and dumps BUCKETS on us!
Ike hit us in AR and it was insane. 100mph winds, sideways rain, no power for days. I know it's so much worse for you guys! Hang in there!!

You can get a lot further with a ladder than you can with crutches!!
What do you mean what do I mean?
