We are on the Northshore and just cleaning yard and all for wind. I have extra provisions in case, but it is what it is ya know? Hubby is a firefighter do he will be on duty as of 7am this morning until its over. He was told to plan to stay till 7am Thursday. I will turn the horses out and my barn will be converted into a run in . I am not, as I said, expecting much but as a "storm widow" I've learned to plan for the worst.

Best of luck to those who can be touched by it! We had "fun" last Aug when the hurricane came along the East Coast leaving no power and damages everywhere. :(

With possible 12 foot swells and an estimated 20 inches of rainfall for Louisana, who even needs a hurricane? That will be enough to cause the rivers, lakes and bayous to fill up and overflow everywhere - flooding everything..

It's gonna be a mess no matter what happens. The storm track shows it going all the way up to the great lakes! So there will be some rain further north, that's for sure.

Time to set out buckets and troughs to catch rainwater for the livestock (as much as one can catch) and then buy plenty of drinking water for the family...never know.....

We are getting some pretty strong wind gusts right now. And, when we went to feed the horses this morning, they were really jumpy and the cows were all in the woods and they hardly ever go in there in the mornings. They have been there all day. That makes me kind of nervous.

We probably won't get much more than wind and rain, but schools have closed for tomorrow and I guess that we will secure everything this evening. Would hate to have the trampoline go flying.

Parts of MS on the gulf has already flood out. The water is rough and way over its usual limit. The highway between my apartment complex and the beach is already starting to flood out. We're in a tornado warning area as well. Buggin' out soon, as the local police decided to put out a curfew for tonight.

Think of it not as a failure but as a success in how not to do it.

Don't look in a horses mouth for a gift.
