Smile Any horse auctions or barn sells in Missouri?

I have been wanting to rescue a horse for a while(Idk if rescuing them from the sale barn is rescuing???). I actually wanted to breed my mare. But with the economy so bad and slaughter being reopened. I feel that rescuing is a much better alternative. We're about 35 minutes from Springfield MO. Also about 15 minutes from fairplay MO.

I also am not sure on what horse i want....Breed doesn't matter but I mean like foal or yearling or 3 years old's and on up. I broke my 2 horses I have been working with another. I could handle I foal I am pretty sure, but I don't think I want one....You understand where I am getting at?? I could handle a 3 year old and work with it train it, if it wasn't already broke. I am just looking forward to giving a horse a new forever home.

Anybody know where any sale barns are?

You might want to PM Bubba13 - I think she still has a couple of horses left she is trying to place for the owner that passed away. They are in the Springfield area...

Yes, I could potentially set you up with a broke, registered, but "rescued," mare. If you are seriously interested in this, please PM me for details.

Otherwise, yes, I believe there is still an auction in Springfield at the SLC the last Friday of every month. There's also one in Highlandville at CRS sales the first Friday and last third Monday of every month. But buying from auction is always risky....

If you don't want the mare I know of, I would urge you to contact the Humane Society's Longmeadow Rescue Ranch, near St. Louis, before buying at an auction. They do good work, have guaranteed horses, and need adopters.... Longmeadow Rescue Ranch - A Division of the Humane Society of Missouri
