Its not the Camera, 90% of whats on there was shot with my old Canon A540 (See camera here http://www.comandati.ro/images/A540.jpg ) I shoot with a DSLR even though I own an SLR. I also shoot full "Manual" and try to keep the shutter speeds around 1/500 sec. Soon I will be buying a Sigma 70mm-300mm so I can start shooting rodeo's. I'm very new to shooting horses but hope to start doing other peoples horses soon. I live in the country out in Oklahoma and theres a lot of horses out here. Say is anyone here from Oklahoma?

Yeah, I know what you mean about being able to use digital cameras for some pretty amazing shots, and I've gotten a few nice ones of my new mare with my camera, but I love doing action shots, where I find it hard to catch any movement at the right time without a SLR ... out of about 50 shots, this was the best shot of my dog:

.. the shot was more pure luck than anything..

My brother just invested in a really sweet SLR and let me play around with it... I was amazed by how technical it was! I was like, can't I just click the button and have it look exactly what I have in my mind?! Great pic JDI! Cute dog!

    PS- I'm from OK!

The SLRs are truely amazing machines. I love the fact they don't have a delay during picture taking. A lot easier to take great photos for action shots.
