Anyone ever had a horse shipped?

If so how much did it cost you? I'm just curious.
Southern california seems to have alot of variety in horses for sale...I wonder how much it would cost to have one shipped from Southern Cali to Northern Arizona...hmm.

It's usually calculated on mileage - $2.50 a loaded mile; or $1.25 round trip used to be standard, I don't know what it is now.

If you're looking for an inexpensive horse, shipping can blow your budget in a hurry.

I have had MANY shipped to me here in Az, from as far as SC (not counting the Friesian I imported from Holland). The haulers I've used are roughly $0.50 per loaded mile (meaning, one way). I like Hauled Right, and have had many good things about Worleys (I love Sharway but they're only minis and small ponies). My latest hauler was last week, and it was M&N www.mandntransport.com and they were very affordable and did a great job.

That actually doesn't sound too bad. And you imported a horse from HOLLAND? THAT'S really neat!
I'm looking into a one way haul. Anybody had good success using uShip? I know transport people bid on there...Just curious if anyone had used that site with good success.

UShip is how I found M&N (my usual haulers couldn't bring him in the time frame I wanted). I don't use one that doesn't have great feedback on there though.

Yeah it seems like the prices are pretty competive on there though.
You think it's possible to have a horse shipped from indiana to northern arizona for around $900?

It would depend on what part of Indiana and Arizona, but that doesn' sound unreasonable.

I had my gelding shipped from South Texas to Northern Colorado for about $1100 using Equine Express in early March, however something happened to all the images on their website and they're still in the process of rebuilding it. They were incredibly helpful, though, and Willie walked off the trailer in fantastic shape.

I had a horse shipped from finger lakes, ny to lexington, ky. I believe it cost me either $450 or $500. I found the people using uship. You can often get a really cheap rate on there if someone is looking to fill their trailer for a trip at last notice.
