APHA transfer question

I found a filly that I really like and want to get, she is APHA registered but the owner won't let her papers go with her, only a bill of sale. I don't know how the APHA works, will they transfer a horse (if its prooven that the horse you have is the horse on the papers) with a signed/dated bill of sale? I do know her registered name.

Nope... Has to have the papers signed on the back to transfer the papers to your name.. You could call APHA and report them.. Does the picture match the picture on the papers? If you have a picture of her I can look and see with APHA Plus and see if its even her..All I need her registered name..

Most people that say they have papers don't and sell them without the papers but tell people they can get the papers with just a bill of sale.. I can't see any reason why people just don't sign the back and give it to you. It doesn't cost them any money for you to put the horse in your name! It does cost yoiu though.. ;)

Oh and I can also check and see if these people are even on the papers..If they aren't.. you would have to register her under the incentive plan.

APHA.Com - Pressroom

But we need to make sure that filly can be registered first! I'll help you find out..I'm quicker than APHA too! ;)

I decided not to get this filly because the owner gave me the run around about her papers telling me i could buy the papers for $1500. Found a stud colt thats cute as a button thats perfect for being a pasture buddy/riding horse (when hes older)
