OK Elspeth I checked out your album. Nice looking horses by the way. I have only seen pictures of the Ardennes breed and that definitely does not make me an authority on the matter. I await to hear what others have to say but I'd say he's a grade horse with blue roan colour and draft blood (possibly Percheron) somewhere in his background. I don't think the Ardennes population is very high in Canada so this is a more likely scenario. He looks like an interesting character and I'm curious to see what you know of his history.
