Attack of the Summer!

Ugh... I hate summer. My horse is getting so fat that she wattles, the flies are about to eat me alive (I'm going through a bottle of fly spray a week), and not to mention how flippin' HOT it is. I can't ride until it's almost dark!

How are ya'll fairing in this most dreaded of seasons? Does anyone enjoy this terrible time of sweat and horse flies?

Augh I hate Summer and Winter D: Today, it was, no joke, 103 F. Oh my god. The heat was so bad it was like you were clothed in it.

The weeds are shortening out my fence, the mucking needs to be done BAD, the tire on my trailer is flat so I can't do the mucking anyways, but it's to hot to fix. The horses all need a good bath. I need to get more T-posts put up so that my poor, little, over-grazed lot can actually recover. I need to do repairs on the barn so my hay stays nice and doesn't combust. I need to shovel out the nasty lean-too. Training needs to be done. The farrier REALLY needs to get out because oh my god those hooves are from a horse horror movie.

-takes a breath-

I need to bag the composted manure so I can sell it and I need mouse and bug traps in my tack room!

But holy...it is SO hot outside.

Wait! I'll fix it....

UGH! I hate this weather! Today here in New York, it was 92 degrees i believe.

For many reasons. - Doing stalls is almost impossible when its this hot, you get 5 done, and you cant breath youre so sweaty, The bugs and nats are TERRIBLE! and get into everything!, The horses get really spunky when going to a ride, there are so many other reasons.. but i HATE SUMMER!

I like winter alot better, because you can always put more clothes on, but in the summer, you can only take off so much.

You cant ride comfortibly until about 7:45-8:00pm here in New York.
Or from about 5:00-10:00Am.

ITS TERRIBE!

But Today Me and my boyfriend gave my mare a bath, and it was SO nice to get sprayed with that hoes!

I'd take 92 degrees any day over what we've been having...heat index of up to 110, humidity out the ying-yang, but no rain to relieve the heat. If this is June, I don't want to see July and August! :(

Not much humidity here, so it's not toooo bad. The horses are getting fat though.

As much as I hate to complain since we don't get nearly enough rain here in Colorado, we have had a RAINY Spring and the corral has stayed muddy and gross. That was no fun. Especially since we are still working on AZ's issues with his hooves and he won't let us clean them out. YUCK

I WISH it was 92 here!! They've been calling for heat indexes of 110 all week but I'm not sure if it got more then 105... right now the regular temp is 103 and it is RIDICULOUSLY HOT! I have so many horses to ride but i teach lessons in the morning. By the time I'm done I can only ride one or two horses before it's just way too hot! Can't wait until evening. At 8:30 last night it was still 101. And it's only June!!!!!!! AAAUUGUGHHH!!

end rant.

WOW! okay, I guess I do not have it as bad as some of you!

You have to be a different breed of human to enjoy 110. LOL

The flies are bad here to, but we have managed to get the barn fairly fly free by using FlyBait. It is these little pink pellets that you sprinkle around and when the flies eat them, they die!
