Aren't you a little young to be thinking about moving to Oz? You're what, all of 13 or 14?

I'd worry about getting through junior high school right now, and nothing much else.

Besides, police training in the US doesn't translate to Australia. You'd have to go to a police academy there, and to do that you'd need to already be living in Oz.

Nice dream, but you're jumping ahead far too soon.

What an exciting plan!

What part of Australia do you have in mind? The police forces are different state by state and it is a very big country so if you are truly ready to look for a place to board your horse then you will need to narrow your search down considerably to at least a state, if not a city.

As for working in the police force, if you plan to do that in Australia you will need to be trained by one of the Australian Acadamies, no amount of training here in the States is transferrable due to differences in laws etc.

You may want to check the citizenship/residency requirements too.

^^Perth is a beautiful city! Being English I bet it will be slightly easier in terms of visas etc.

Here is the Police Academy website for WA:

Academy | Western Australia Police

You still may want to check on citizenship/residency requirements as they are sometimes stricter for law enforcement (i.e. A visa may not suffice). That website should also tell you if any skills are transferrable although I suspect you would still need to go through the WA academy.

Good luck and happy researching (you will be doing lots of it )!
