awesome lunge line lesson

I just wanted to write a little bit about the lesson I had yesterday on the lunge line because it was soooo great! My body is totally killing me today though. I did walk trot and canter without reins!!! Was so great to feel myself moving with the horse and not having to rely on the reins for balance. It was such a brilliant boost in confidence to know I can balance without them. I can still feel myself moving with the horse!! I felt like I was flying when we were cantering along (could be because my instructor made me put my arms out like an aeroplane hahahaha). I fell off once when the horse tripped and pig rooted but didn't hurt myself other than a ripped fingernail and got straight back on for more. Has anyone else had wonderful experiences like this. My instructor is so so wonderful!

WOOO HOOO! That is fabulous news and GOOD FOR YOU!! I am so happy to hear that you had a Lunge Line lesson with NO REINS! FABULOUS!!!

I am so pleased that you were able to feel yourself, and your horse - you are on the right track! Keep up the good work!

Thank you sooo much MIEventer. I'm still feeling how great that lesson was and it was almost a week ago. The no reins was so awesome for my balance and to learn that all important 6th sense of riding "feel".

I can't wait for my private, I really hope she brings out the lunge line. Trying to learn to canter while having to control the horse is not easy. I just want to focuse on how to balance.

Good for you! It sounds like fun.
