The other day I went out to the barn early to do some chores and just say Hi to the horses. My instructor hadn't been out to feed them yet, and I don't feel comfortable feeding them by myself unless my instructor specifically asks me to.
So I got the run in shed mucked out and Hawkeye groomed. Then I played a quick game of "I'm going to be a w*tch until you stop being a brat and disengage your hindquarters" with him.
After I was satisfied that Hawkeye was listening to me and being a good boy, I gave each horse a Merry Christmas pet, locked up the barn and got into my car. I looked out my windshield and all of the ponehs were standing at the fence watching me. They all had looks of, "Don't go!" on their faces. I'm not completely sure, but I think they were also hinting, "Hey! Didn't you forget something? Maybe to FEED us? We're starving over here!?"
Oh well, at least they were concerned that I was leaving, unlike when they usually retreat to the safety of the run-in shed until I am out of the driveway.
Anyway, Does anybody else have an "Awww" moment they have had lately with their horsie friends?
