Talking Back in the saddle again!

In about two months, I'll finally be riding again! My daughter and I are moving back home to be near family while my husband goes on yet another deployment, so I figured I would get back into my love of horses to help pass the time. I started lessons when I was little and have ridden on and off and started jumping a couple of summers ago, but this is my chance to get serious. I'm leasing a beautiful mare and she's all ready for me when I get there. Her owner is also throwing in lessons, and I'm switching to Western to try my hand at barrels. I'm so excited that sometimes it keeps me up at night!

I just wanted to share my excitement!

Great plan! I find horse time to be very therapeutic, hope you find some inner peace there as well.

I thought this post was for ME <----------- lol
This is going to be SOOOOO GOOD for you! I'm a military wife; I know all too well how deployments can be. If I had my horse then, it would have made all the difference. You get to move closer to family, too... that's a big plus =) I hope the deployment goes as smoothly and as fast as possible.

Haha what a coincidence that you're also a military wife and that this post's title was your username! And you're right...I know concentrating on riding, as well as being near family again, will get me through this deployment smoothly. Homecoming will be here before I know it! Then I'll have something to show him because he's never seen me on a horse before.

And thank you, everyone, for sharing in my enthusiasm!! I'm dreading this deployment, but at the same time, I can't wait to start riding again. I'll be on these boards a lot, seeking advice and just enjoying reading the discussions. See you all around!

It's always a plus meeting other military wives with similar interests! Especially an interest in horses!
