    Talking Bad day gone good

The reason that I was so keen to get Ben ridden a couple of times this week was because today was supposed to be an exciting day, Bens first lesson with me at my trainers, and I have found someone else in the area who wanted lessons so we arranged to go together. She arrived nice and early, and we tried to get Ben loaded, and we tried and tried, but in the end we just ran out of time. GRRRR

Seeing as the trailer was going anyway, and I wanted to go with Debbie I said, to hell with it I'll throw Ben out and grab one of the girls and we'll be off. So I slung a halter in Emmy, and literally pulled her out of the paddock and loaded her up and we were off!

When we got there Debs rode her horse first and Emmy stood quietly tied to the trailer, then I threw some tack on her and led her around the place, she was so quiet and sensible that I decided today is the day to jump on,

We spent a lot of time with the mounting process, every time I went to get on she got tense, so we just waited until she was relaxed, and then stopped and started again, until she was thoroughly bored with the whole thing, and then I hopped on.

She was amazing, we were only walking in the round pen, but she was calm and responsive and so comfortable, I love her. We kept it to a short ride, partly because of the physical, not been ridden in a while but also she was losing focus towards the end, so we stopped on a good note. She is so like her mum to ride, did I mention I LOVE her LOL.

So now I am feeling great, I have overcome a lot of mental blocks this week, so time to grab that feeling and run with it
