barn was closed today

So today I went to the farm to ride... but as we pulled up to the driveway...the gates were closed. There were no signs sayn that the barn was closed. So we are just sitting there decideing what to do.

Then my barn friend pulls up in her car and sees the gates are closed. So now we are all decideing what to do. So my friend was like... *the heck with this...im going to see my horse* haha So we followed her into the driveway with our car.


So my mom had to be somewhere after she dropped me off at the barn. So me and my friend just spent the day grooming our horses. We couldnt ride. So I spent a long time grooming kalypso since he's all white. So after I made him look pretty...i put him in his stall and went to get my other horse to groom her.

I spent some more time grooming her and pulling her mane. Tomorrow my other horse is getting a bath...so today's grooming helped a bit.

I was kinda mad that the Bo didnt tell us that she was going to be gone for the day. Atleast she will be home tomorrow so I can see and ride my horse.

If there's lots of boarders then it'd be hard to phone everyone personally BUT the BO should've at least put a sign on the gate apologising for the inconvenience.

Good on you for spending time with your horse.

Urghh that wasn't very considerate or professional of your BO. This is a business that you're paying for. Maybe something serious happened and she had to jet real fast, but still having someone to look after the place while she's gone would have been smart. Or set up her phone's voicemail about the barn being closed or something.

Similar thing happened tu us when we used to board,,but we didn;t ignore the gate & go in. I was furious until the next day when I found out that there had been a flash flood from the nearby creek & the BO had moved all the boarded horses *(75) up to his private barns/indoor arena, out door arena where ever he could fit to keep them safe & out of harms way.....risking his own life to do it..luv that man!

It is my barns rules to close the gate when no one is around. Last person to leave has to close the gate, but as long as there is at least one person there, it can stay open. But it doesn't stop any one from coming or going. Closed gate just means no one is up there at the moment.

The Bo called tonight to plan tomorrow's lesson. My mom said that we came over today. So the bo said it was fine that we were there. :) So nobody got in trouble.

She wasnt home because she had to help out a friend with some house work.

She's getting new front gates for the driveway. They might be the kind where you have to punch in a code.. so that might be interesting.

She probably had the gate close so no unwanted person would go in and see that no body was they

Most likely, duffy. People may come in and steal things :/ didn't even think about that.

The BO cannot stop you from seeing your animal. I would definitely be pleased with a working gate. It helps deter visitors who don't board horses there or take lessons there from trespassing if no one is around.

We have a combination lock on our gates which are always locked if someone isn't there. However anyone who boards/ leases or works there has the combo to come and go as we please.
