I don't see how a new gate with a code can work for her because just around the bend is another driveway where the horse trailer pulls out and theres no gate there. Its just wide open. So if somebody wanted to "break in" the barn...they could use the other driveway. :P Unless if that drive is going to get a new gate too.. but I don't know.
Oh and if the power goes out...dont you have to reset the power box for the gate?
I sort of wish that my barn had a gate at the front of the driveway like that. With it being open, anyone, anytime can come right up to the barn and pastures. However, the barn is always locked (boarders know where the keys are), when no one is around. It's a rule that the last to leave must lock up. Our barn is basically just a tack room though, all of our horses are pasture boarded. Granted, the BO lives on the property, so she can mostly keep an eye out on things, but when she's gone for a few days/week (like she is right now, vacation), anyone could come mess with our horses.. So be grateful for gates! :)
We have a standard day the barn is closed and that is Mondays. But where we have just 3 boarders at the moment and 1 pending we are open 7 days now. But only till 7:00 pm. When and if we get some more boarders a notice will be mailed to all stating barn hours.
Its only respect to the horse owners if the BO takes the time to leave some type of notice and if they knew in advance about the closing they should of mailed a notice.
You rock for spending time grooming your horses, Its great bonding time fir you and them Plus they feel better too.
Today I was susposed to have my lesson..but my trainer called to say that she can't do my lesson because her dog is having puppies. Grrrr
Its good that she's having puppies b/c corgie puppies are so cute...but it stinks that she had to do it today...today's weather was in the 70s. Tomorrow and thursday its going to be in the 90s. Im not sure about friday's weather. So now im not sure when I can get to the barn next to have a lesson. :;sigh::
I don't like it when these things happen. Its either she's not home or the puppy thing now.
