I'm freeeeeeeeeee! :happydance::happydance::happydance:
As of 4:15 this afternoon I was officially cleared to ride again under the condition that I, and I quote, "don't do anything stupid", this coming from an non-horsey doctor. :lol:
I had to explain to him that my horses have been off just as long as I have (almost 8 months :shock so there will be no hopping on a galloping off because horses take just as much conditioning as people do and my merry band of equines are, let's face it, pure flab by now, which means lots of slow conditioning work is in our future. Fortunately he had a horsey nurse to back me up on that one. He seemed slightly mollified after that discussion. I also played the "but riding is how I handle my depression because meds don't work for me" card, because it is completely true. Hehe. With that x-rays coming back completely clean and not giving him an anti-riding leg to stand on, he stood no chance. :twisted:
And don't worry, I may be a western rider but I am very pro helmet. I have a shiny brand new helmet waiting for me at the barn and considering that it predecessor saved my life eight months ago, I am not getting on without it.
Now I just have to get through three more days of classes before I can go home and actually ride . Why?! Why do you do this to me?! So close, yet so far!
I will not bail on class to go ride. I will not bail on class to go ride. I will not bail on class to go ride. I will not bail on class to go ride. I will not bail on #$%*$^&* class to go ride...
