Bobs Hoof Before and After...

So when I got my horse he has a huge crack in his foot it just looked horrible but didn't seem to cause him any pain or lameness. Well over a period of 6 or so months this is what it looks like now ( well this is a few months before his recent trim and ill get new pictures from his trim on the 29th of november) sorry they aren't that great I haven't had the time to do " good hoof pictures."

It looks as if he foundered--that's the bell shape at the bottom of his foot. What does your farrier say? BTW, the crack looks like it's grow out nicely. =D

He actually was in the early stage of founder in the second picture and I got him a grazing muzzle and limited his feed and he made a great comeback.

Wow, looks likie a great job growing out. These cracks can get nasty very quickly. A girl that goes to our shows had one like this and it got so bad that they had to take the outer hoof completely off and leave it exposed! It looks nasty and she says the vet told her that she most likely won't get to show her for at least a year!

Looks like YOU did an awesome job getting it under control quickly.

The new area that I have him at since september is sooo great. His food intake in monitored and since I finally have a arena to work in I have been able to ride and work him more and not to mention the countless hours of trail riding and he is a pistol on the trail. So he's lost weight and he's soo much happier as well

And I got him on hoof and coat supplements and been using tough stuff as well...I am so glad it grow out as he's had that crack almost his whole life. I just see the picture and it makes me cringe.
