    Bored mare

My mare seems to be bored when she is in her stable on her own. Any ideas?
I have heard about footballs for horses? What do you think?

Unfortunately I can't provide a link, but I know they make toys that can be attached to the side of a stall, we're looking into getting one for one of the horses at my barn, he's so bored he eats the wood in his stall (not cribbing).

I heard when a horse gets bored (this usually happens in a stable) they can get vices like weaving and wind sucking, et cetera. Well do you have to put her in a stable? Try to keep her out of a stable most of the time if you can. Um, I heard if a horse is lonely or bored in a stable by itself they get along with cats so you could get your cat to sit there with it if the stable's at your house I guess. Umm... maybe there are horse toys like there are for dogs? I have no idea! Do you agist or is your horse on your property? Maybe if there are several stables and there are other horses in stables near it, move it next to them or oposite them!
    Seeya, good luck!

She is surrounded by 9 other horses. She throws her head a bit but as soon as you go in with her she stops. She also licks anything she can get her tongue on. I will look into horse toys further. Thanks for your help

Before spending a ton of $$s on horse toys, you can try empty gallon plastic milk or juice bottles. We keep a few out for our mares, and they'll play with them more than their Jolly ball.
