Exclamation Bringing My TB to College?

I am currently a Junior in high school, and I've started looking for colleges. My biggest concern is that I want to bring my 12-year old TB gelding to college with me, to continue riding and preferably showing. I would love to join an Eventing team, (I am currently a Novice level Eventer working towards Training in the next few months) but I worry that it will be too expensive, as I have 3 younger siblings and my parents just aren't sure if they can pay for both college plus all the boarding/vet/farrier/training fees. My current goal is to try to get a full-ride scholarship to a school where I can at least board my horse nearby. I will probably major in Studio Art or English; I have a cumulative 3.95 GPA, so hopefully that will help somewhat.

Does anyone have any suggestions/advice? Anything and everything is appreciated.

There are a lot of horse barns that cater to colleges - you just have to look. The only time in my life I did not bring my horses with me was when I was active duty Army, other than that, where I went, they went.

Actually, if I had reaslized that there lots of horse facilities for military personnel, I would have never sold my horse before I joined! It turned out that when I got to my duty station, the base horse stable was less than a mile away.

College is hard as hell - but why would you give up your horse?

The kid next door left for college, leaving her $15,000 eventing horse to rot in pasture at her parent's houe - he and his buddy have not been ridden now in three years????? She used to ride both horses every day.
