Default Broken Hand

My mom is completely bummed. She ordered a custom saddle for Dixie and it is not here yet so she has been riding bareback, well yesterday there was a girl walking this husky down our road and the husky was on a choke chain, as soon as it saw the horses it started lunging against the chain and making gargling, yelping and growling sounds all at once. It was the weirdest sound I've ever heard. Needless to say, Dixie freaked, did a 360 and went hightailing it home, leaving my mom laying on the cement with a broken hand and a cracked helmet. the Doctor said no using the hand for two days and no riding for another three after that. My mom is completely upset. I'm just thankful I made her wear her helmet that day, something told me "We should wear helmets!" so I told her to and she said "I'll be fine!" I said, "Put it on or I'm not going." so she put it on. I'm so glad too. I can't imagine what could have happened....

Oh Abby, I'm so glad you made your mom wear her helmet! Don't even want to think about what would have happened had she not.
Give her our best for a speedy recovery. I guess that means no housework, dishes or anything else either. I'm sure your being a good daughter and helping her out

Thanks guys. I'll tell her everyone on the forum sends their best wishes. I'm just thankful it was only a broken hand. I know that from now on, we will always ride with a helmet, some days we don't because we just ride along our road but even our road can be dangerous, I am extremely happy my horse stayed calm so that way I had a chance to get off and make sure my mom was ok.
