Hi everyone. I have a 16yrs mare i brought 2yrs ago. she is lovely in walk and trot but in canter has a bucking problem. I have had her back checked. Her teeth done ride treeless and bitless. she never bolts and is brilliant in traffic. she does it with better riders than me. please any sugestions
If pain and/or bad saddle fit has been ruled out then it may just be that she has learnt in the past that bucking gets the rider off and gets her out of working. Are they bucks big enough to get you off and does she do it every time at a canter?
Has she done this since you got her, do you know much about her past and whether she did this with her previous owner? If you can read the signs when she is getting ready to buck then get her head up and give her a growling and a *** with a crop if you use one. Let her know that it wont be tolerated and hopefully she will come to realise that its not going to get her out of working.
Good luck!
