Buffalo Roundup

A local place here has a buffalo roundup each year. Over a 3-4 day period a group of riders herd close to 1000 buffalo across a long terrain and into a corral. My father and I discussed it and have decided that this next year (next october) we are going to enter and ride in the buffalo roundup. Has anyone ever ridden in one of these? How can you prepare a horse for this? I am actually looking into purchasing another horse and am thinking I will keep this event in mind as I am looking for the horse. What types of things would you look for in a horse?

One that has seen a buffalo. A good, calm, well broke horse other than that. Where is this buffalo round up? I have ridden around the buffalo on Antelope Island in Utah. They can get pretty riled up and they run about as fast as a horse so if one starts after you you need to be moving pretty fast.

The roundup is the Antelope Island roundup, this years roundup is going on this Saturday. I am hoping I can make room in my schedule to go and watch it. How can you get a horse used to a buffalo?
