Buying my first horse

So after many years of dreaming of having my first horse its finally happening!

I have a barn already in place so all I need to do is find one(easier said then done) lol. I have a few in mind and I am SOO excited to meet them. I can't wait to get everything in the barn and set up for my new baby to come home. Anyone else remember their first experience getting ready to bring their horse home? And how exciting it isss!!

Cool congrats!!! Once you get the horse be sure to post lots of pictures!

Same here...I have a barn ready to go....have leased a horse and have looked at 5-6 others. I keep thinking I found the horse and then something happens. So far it has been dishonest people so I am thankful that I have found out first! Now I am looking at a horse that is owned by a woman that many of my friends know and trust. That makes me feel much better...I have learned a lot of lessons! I am glad it has happened as it made me all the wiser.
Good luck! I am going to visit with this new horse for the second time this weekend.

I am going to look at a horse this weekend that is about 2 hours away. I am so excited she sounds perfect! She is a 5 year old mare, pure bred quarter horse, 15.2 hh, black with white socks and star blaze :) I don't have pics yet but I will be sure to post when I see her! Her owner tells me that she is very well mannered and you could walk under her belly she's so calm.

I feel that she may be the one, I can just feel it

I could just feel it when I bought my first horse too. Heck, I took him on a trial basis sight unseen. Congrats and enjoy every minute of it! Don't forget to track down a good farrier and vet ;)

Well looked at the first horse on my list. A little 5 yr old Arabian/apaloosa cross. She was great until she trotted and in the back legs looked stiff. So wierd
