    California friends...:)

    So..

I might be relocating to N. California. I know this sounds odd but I'm going to be friendless. :(
Is anyone on here near Fresno, or Bay Area (Napa, or Sonoma county?)
We are still unsure which place we will be relocated too, and it could not even happen. But I have no friends in those areas and would love to have a trail buddy if I do happen to wind up there. :p

    I know I sound like a loser. :(

I am originally from Southern California.

And I know at least one member here is near Fresno. You're not alone

Oh my! That makes me happy.
I haven't been back to Ca. In like 5 years...

I went to UC Davis which is in that general area, but I don't know that much, other than SF, the redwoods, and Yosemite.

**** growing up, I never kept in contact with anyone, it didn't matter anyway I guess.. None of them enjoyed horses anyway. I'm just overwhelmed with it, it's hard leaving my friends here. I literally just made a best friend. :(
But, it's nice to know I might make a couple new ones if we end up there.

    Where is ridge rest?
I'm determined to get a trailer, and I know we are going to get at least 10acres if we end up near Fresno, HOPEFULLY at least 5 if I can land something in wine country that doesn't cost half a million dollars. -.-

Haha that is a very common question and I can best explain it the middle of nowhere. The only reason it is known at all is because of the navy base but it is about and hour and a half away from bakersfield, 45 min from lake isabella and 2 hours from bishop.

We often trailer to bakersfield/tehachapi area for barrel races.

I know how that is. When I was in Ca. No one knew where I was. Just in the middle of the desert. Haha

I don't know if apollo could barrel race but I would be your friend and we can cheer from the sidelines for you! :p

Haha ya its rough being in the middle on nowhere but the one upside is I have miles of desert to roam around in and explore.
You never know I've heard of some pretty random breeds do well at smaller shows haha. It would be a good experience though, our barrel horses double as roping/ cow chasing, trail blazin, kid lovin guineaa pigs haha. We do so much with our horses so they don't get burnt out on just one thing.

    Omg...
So, have you ever seen the weird little burrowing owls?
Once when I was riding out in the middle of nowhere a darn owl ran out from a hole and started screeching at Jules(my first OTTB) and I.. He stopped head in his track and started sniffing this stupid little thing and it was just screeching and screeching at us. After about 5 mins I decided to ride the other way cause he was not having us in his territory. He proceeded to 'chase' us about 15 feet then hopped back. Haha funny little guy.

As for barrels, I did barrel race on that TB.
Maybe apollo could learn. He can make some very tight turns for such a long legged guy. Maybe I will do it sometime just to see. We have a few barrels at the barn. :p

Yupp at my old barn there were several hollows about 10 mins down the road that we would take the camp kids to see hah, never was attacked though. We did have a couple big cat scares though.
