Smile Calling all who ride English AND Western!

I ride English and Western - I took English lessons for 1 1/2 years, then got my first horse. I rode him English for the first year, then began riding western with my friend (on her horse), and eventually decided to do both with my gelding. I just wanted to know:
Which one did you start out with?
Which one do you like better?
Which one do you ride more?
Which one are you better at?

Just curious!

Which one did you start out with?
Western technically, my mom took me riding on my aunt's horse when I was about four. Then I rode off and on doing trail rides. Picked up english for the first time when I was nine or so on two TB's.
Which one do you like better?
I like english a little better, but I love barrel racing. Barrel racing and jumping are tied for me.
Which one do you ride more?
I ride english exponentially more than western.
Which one are you better at?
I would say I am better at english because I ride it more.

Which one did you start out with?
I started out Western with little trail rides, some lessons, etc.

Which one do you like better?
English; I am strangely against common things. Everyone around my place rides Western, so I'm naturally going to pick English.

Which one do you ride more?
English mostly. I ride western on long distance trails though since the seating position is so relaxing.

Which one are you better at?
English by far. It is the discipline that I was trained in and have had the most instruction in.

Sweet! Nice to hear from you guys! I really need to ride English wayyyy more. I think they're both tied for me - I like jumping a ton, but then Trail and Reining are really fun >

Which one did you start out with?
English, 14 years ago. I'd always wanted to ride when I was little, and my Dad finally bought me riding lessons for christmas. I owned a horse not a year later. :P

Which one do you like better?
That is a tough question. Honestly, I love them both. I have my English horse, now I am just looking for my Western horse, so I can have the best of both worlds.

Which one do you ride more?
Right now, English. I always have ridden English more. Because whatever horse I've owned has definitely been an 'English only' type of horse. Especially the young horse I have now. But I have a Paint/Arab in mind that would be fantastic at Barrels. Now, just getting my husband to let me buy another horse is the issue... Hah!

Which one are you better at?
English, I'd have to say. Its what I've ridden 14 years, competed, and had tons and tons of formal training in.

Which one do you ride more?

Which one are you better at?

Which one did you start out with?
Hunt seat, EVERYONE down here rides hunt seat, I'd never even heard of Saddleseat until about 7 months ago :)

Which one do you like better?
I like Hunt seat better than western and saddleseat because I love jumping and I can't handle 2 reins in each hand.

Which one do you ride more?
Western. My horse is a western ranch/trail horse

Which one are you better at?
Western. Hunt seat, I'm rusty and I look like an idiot trying to handle 2 reins and a crop. My trainer tried to teach me to flip it . . . :) :(

Which one did you start out with?
Technically, I started off bareback. But, I moved into a Western saddle when I got my first horse.

Which one do you like better?
I don't really like one better than the other. I love the elegance and freedom of jumping, but I love the thrill and speed of barrel racing.

Which one do you ride more?
Western.

Which one are you better at?
Western, because I do it more.
