I was wondering if anybody on here is good with cameras. So I have an ok camera right now its a cannon power shot but I am looking for something better with more zoom. Any suggestions I was thinking maybe a Nikon? I will be taking mostly pictures of horses and animals in general. It can't be insanely expensive either.

I would highly recommend Nikon. It's got easy controls, good lenses, and the lower dSLR's aren't too expensive (the D40, which I have, ranges from $500 to $1000 on

Are you looking for a dSLR or another Point and Shoot?

I'm personally am a Canon user, and they have a coupe of lower end dSLRs that won't drain your bank account - the Rebel XS and XSi are both wonderful cameras. I also second the Nikon D40, I've used one a few times and it is also a great camera for a great price.
