    Cameras Cameras Cameras!!!

Does anyone know of any cameras that are good for horsey riding...by that I mean like won that will take the pic almost immediately? We have oldish cameras and they don't even have that shutter thing or won does and it doesnt even work! *ugh* if you know of a camera please let me know what kind, where I can get one, the price, etc. thanks =]

***oh keep in mind that I already know about the sport cameras, and although they are perfect for this, most are WAY too expensive!!!

Lots of cameras have a sports mode, where it will take the photo right away. My personal camera, which I LOOOOVE is Canon S5 IS. I don't use the sports mode though as the pictures come out much better without it. I partially push the button to take the photo, and it will focus. Then I just hold it until the moment I want the photo taken, and it snaps it right away. I can also just push it down and there's really not much delay, if at all, but the partially pushing will allow for better focus. Works great for me and my hubby, we take a LOT of action horse shots, including in combined driving competitions and jumping classes.
That cam is over $300. There is also a s3 IS that I've seen photos from and they were very nice as well, and that model is cheaper.

Canon Elph is really nice. I think that they have one of the faster shutter speeds for point and shoot cameras. If you go for a slightly older one, (maybe a 6 or 7 pixel) it will be still work just as well, but will cost much less. New, they are in the $300-400, but I bet you could find a slightly older model for much, much less. I have the 6mp and it works great. Its continuous mode is really fast too
