can anyone help identify this weed

Hello this is growing in our pond and I can't figure out what it is. It floats and it flowers these yellow flowers and it is taking over we have been pulling it out with a rake to remove it but today I noticed the horse eating it I want to figure out what it is if its safe or not.

It would help if we knew in what country you lived. They look similar to buttercups, but they're not.

It's called creeping water primrose. It's an invasive species, and you're going to have a heck of a time getting rid of it.

Why Face, you don't think the Nutria were a good idea? Or swans? How about kudzu? Japanese beetles?

Nutria were their crowning achievement, though. Just what a country needs - millions of 15 pound rats...
