What do the anti slaughter folks suggest happens to the unwanted horses?

I've never heard that, and I have asked often.

The post is definitely about slaughter just because I advocate a different opinion doesn't mean it's off topic this is a public forum, you can't dictate that everyone has to agree in order to post on a certain topic.

(Keep in mind, you're more likely to be reported to an admin for blatant insults than I am for being off topic)

Ladie, now you're just being rude. Maybe you need to take a step back and ask yourself why you're so upset somebody has an opinion that differs from yours. The horse community especially is FULL of so many opinions, there are plenty of people who make me 'mad' but you have to learn how to deal with it and move on. You can't FORCE people to agree with you, and you'll only cause yourself stress getting worked up.

Erm excuse me here!!!

I live up the road from New Holland auction, it's one of the auctions that sends one of the most horses to slaughter. I recognize all of the meat buyers (usually 3 are there).

I see horses with kind eyes all the time, just old, sick, injured being sold to the meat guy.

As many people who are willing to sign a legal agreement with me to save these horses, I will save up to 20. You pay field board, $275 a month, farrier barefoot, I'd assume $100 every 6 weeks. = $4k a year, plus whatever unknown vet bills.

Paypal me that, and I will send you photos and save as many horses as you want me to. Up to 20 at my current barn - more at other barns with differing costs.

Wait, what, no one is going to message me for my paypal address? Why, when you want to save all these horses?

If you want to save the horses from slaughter, I will save them for you. Paypal me their monthly costs, and I will save them. I can take 20 at my current barn, more at other barns I know, price unknown, but would be disclosed publically ahead of time.

The minute you get 4 days behind in your payment for these unwanted horses, they would be back at the auction. Real offer, I am not playing around.

If you want to save these horses, do so, I will help.

The petition is for:

"Currently, the provincial horse councils / federations have have banded together into a corporation called the "Horse Welfare Alliance Of Canada (HWAC)" which campaigns for horse slaughter in Canada and the eating of horse meat.

I do not agree with and do not want to see my membership dues support the aims of HWAC as regards horse slaughter or eating horse meat. By signing this petition, I demand that my provincial horse council donates 25% of my yearly membership dues to the organization or charity/horse rescue that I choose which I believe best represents my beliefs in support of the interests of equine wellbeing and longetivity."

"they not talking about slaughter anywhere"?????

They not?
