Oh jeeze, these cats! They're too insane. The other "barn cats" (this term is used very loosely, I might add, they barely hunt anything, live in the basement, and are fed like kings) always try and climb into my car. My mom will be waiting for me with the window open, fall asleep, and wake up with a crotchety thirteen year old cat (or two!) on her lap!

As it's not your cat, I will move on from that conversation as there is nothing you can do about it.

My former mare loved one barn cat, they were always a pair. When she was in the pasture, the silly cat was with her too. I only have one photo and my memories as it was many years ago, so I will share the pic. The cat had her claws, she would jump from the ground onto my horses back, Penny didn't mind at all. Or Pen would lay down, the cat would get on, and just stay there while she got up. The were best buddies, it was strange.

Sadly I don't remember the silly cats name, and it was only my horse that she was that way with. The cat was about always in my horses stall, Penny would never had stood on her.

I love that photo!

Everything that happens, be it the good, the bad and the downright miserable define who we are.

Thanks, me too. It about sums up Penny, she was such a good horse, she really was one of a kind.

Thanks, it was about 2 decades ago. From what I remember it wasn't a photo of the cat, more I was trying to get a photo of my horse and this is how she was, with the cat.

She was one special mare, she would have given her life for me, and that cat. She was a horse that got very attached. I've spent the rest of my horse life trying to find another her, I am not sure I will.

years ago I was working with an extremely green broke 3 yr old appendix in the outdoor round pen. and this crazy cat Spock jumped out of the tall grass and into the pen. My horse wasn't happy. Not to calm either. I don't remember the impact but according to bystanders I was dragged by one stirrup for a little bit.

Just an update, Polly had four beautiful kittens. Mom and babies are very happy and healthy, and she ended up having them naturally. Polly will be spayed with her kittens when they are eight weeks old.

Happy to hear everyones healthy. Are they keeping mama and babies indoors? Mama can come back in heat within a couple of weeks.
