Childhood Horsies

When you were little and you wanted a horsie sooo bad, but couldn't have one, what did you use as a subsitute?

I always pretended my little red bike was a horse and I named her Candy Apple because she was red. Lol. I also had a rocking horse that my grandfather made.

Oh God, I used to ride sticks around and my cousin
and I used to pretend like we were horses, one of my favorite
games!

It's been awhile, but I'm back & back in the saddle!

Lol, great topic. Thankfully I was always lucky enough to have my own, but when I had friends round and it was raining we use to turn matress's on their side and sit on those, they were great. Until one day we broke the springs!

Also it was bikes, if we went out cycling. :)

My parents gave my a big stuffed animal horse. And when I was little I used to name every stuffed animal by the tag on its butt, and this horse's said Huggapuffs on it and I still have ol' Huggapuffs.

Thanks goodness we had horses as kids but we still could not get enough.

We used to run around on our hands and knees pretending that we were horses. We even ate grass and wore halters like harnesses. LOL Funny kids. My mom has pictures of me and my sister "Jumping."

I remember, one time when it snowed (about half an inch - it doesn't snow here), I broke out the old wooden sled that my granddad made for my dad with my friend who rode. We got her little sister and another friend to pull us about, while we sat on it and tapped them with her long dressage whip xD

haha the good old memories. I got a pony pretty much when I asked for one. I was a very spoiled kid growing up. Even tho I had ponies (yes I did ask for one, but got 3, go figure-never complained tho!)I had a "barn" full of fancy stick horses I had a covered "sand arena" and a little grass ring where I had a fully decorated arena of jumps. Of course it was all put up with tree branches and wheelbarrows, buckets, rocks etc.

FGR - About pretending to be horses and "jumping," I have done that recently (as in last year). Hehe. I guess you never grow up.

Keep em coming, guys!

and yes I did use my bike as a horse as well. I put together some reins on each side of the hnadles. I don't recall doing it for to long tho, was quite dangerous even for the seasoned rider
