Too much financial trouble to do Christmas aside from set up a tree. My mother and brother weren't even home with me today so I just slept all day. What a great Christmas...didn't even snow /sarcasm.

At least my BO sent me a card saying she's going to cover Reno's hoof trim and is continuing training him for nothing as long as she can. She's wonderful really.

This is the FIRST Christmas I didn't get anything horse-related.

However I got an iPad with a red cover, Photoshop cs6, and some pretty awesome clothes.

I got a new English saddle a couple weeks ago in early December so I guess I can count that as a horse-related. ;)

For the wretched of the earth there is a flame that never dies.
Even the darkest night will end and the sun will rise.

Didn't really get much for Christmas aside from a few shirts and some money from my parents.

Then again, I did move 1100 miles away a few days before Christmas, so what would you expect? Haha.

I think that after nearly 4 years with my boyfriend, he's finally coming to grips with the fact that my horse comes first in my life. So when i told him what i wanted for Christmas, and it all just happened to be horse stuff (as it normally is), it was the very first year he just caved and bought me all the "horse stuff" i had asked for. No diamonds, or clothes, or crap that i don't need! Got a beautiful new Amigo stable sheet, 3 Himalayan salt licks, a couple engraved brass bridle tags, new half chaps, and a fancy stitched Bobby's English Tack bridle.

Life seems mighty precious, when there's less of it to waste.

Well my major present was my mare Zima, but she came a month or so ago. I also got new teal front SMB's, a new teal jeweled headstall and breast collar, a new teal Rope halter, teal speed reins, & a teal saddle pad. Can you guess what Zimas color is gonna be?! Lol.

I got spoiled

My husband doesn't ride horses, so he's not very well versed in the selection of horse-related gifts, which is all I want of course. So.... I have the never-ending wishlist on Amazon where he can simply click on the item and it takes him to the website where he can order it!

He really outdid all my expectations this year, when it has been bitter cold and wet. I got:

- Polar fleece Irideon balaclava for keeping my face warm and fits under my helmet
- Extreme winter gloves from Heritage, waterproof
- Ariat waterproof work/riding boots!!

All of which I tested today in the blizzard while I brought 4 horses in, fed, broke and scooped out ice, secured all doors, then fed 2 more horses, gave nutrients, and checked blankets, taking about an hour. I have never enjoyed my chores in the winter so much

Plus, I got myself one gift: a rain coat for riding that is made to work with the saddle (which I've wanted since riding the last 13 miles of an endurance ride walking in a dounpour this summer). I'm gonna be cozy, dry, and warm!!
