Chuckwagon Races..... SO MUCH FUN!

OK so we were supposed to go camping with our horses and friends this weekend.......We went to check out the campsite before we went and it was crap so we decided not to go. It just so happend that there were Chuckwagon Races going on near our house and we decided to go down and check them out. It WAS FANTASTIC! We camped there and had a great time...no horses tho...we don't have our coggins papers back from the vet :( they should arrive in the mail today) Any ways it was rednecks and horses are far as the eye could see! I was in heaven...lol...

There were so many events! Team roping friday nite followed by a barn dance and plenty of beer and moonshine

Saturday there was a trail ride in the morning, chuckwagon races in the afternoon with a horserace afterwards then a ranch rodeo at nite and plenty of beer and moonshine

Sunday there was cowboy church in the am followed by barrel racing with the chuckwagon races in the afternoon and bull riding at nite and plenty of beer...lol...skipped the shine

I can't believe what fun we had...We have really needed it I guess! The kids found a bunch of their friends and rode double with them most of the weekend... The rules at the ranch simply state that horses are to be used as transportation for the weekend. Cars kick up too much dust please leave them at camp! So there were every kind of horse there with every level of rider! (well... I didn't see any english stuff) But had a blast! I learned so much!!!! I am so over being intimidated by our horses... I just needed a good shot in the arm I guess! I saw everything from 4 kids on a horse to a dirty drunken sunburt cowboy riding bareback with a halter and piece of twine pointing to his horse which way he wanted him to go and the horse did it!!!!! I wish I would have remembered my camera!!!! This was the 2nd time these wonderful folks hosted the races and my family will certainly go back for the 3rd annual...WITH our horses!!!!!! They have a website... www.rockbottomchuckwagonraces.com There are pictures that are from last year on the chuckwagon races page day 1 and day2 if you are interested in taking a look.
