Red face Cinny has NOT found a new owner, some issues

It's been a sweet 3 years with the Cin man, but it has become very clear to me that although I love him with all my heart, and I'm sure he loves me just as much, we are going in different directions. He prefers no work, and to only play on trails and I am really loving Dressage. So, I have been looking for someone to lease or maybe buy him off and on for a year but haven't found the right person, until today.

All I can say is SHE UNDERSTANDS HIM. She grew up with horses but hasn't had one for a while, however she has been riding her friend's horse the past 6 months. She just hasn't found the "right" horse. She wants a horse to just play around with on trail, to love, and to be her buddy. And after a search through many horses, she and Cinny just "clicked." She is leasing him for about 6 months and then buying him after that. She just wants to really know him before fully committing and I completely understand that. He's not an easy horse to get along with sometimes.

I am sad, and somewhat heartbroken for him to go. I just know that when I give in to him, I'm not happy, and he tries very hard to please me and in doing so he isn't happy either. We have been a a tug of war for a while. He is still my heart horse and it's tearing me up, but I know he will be happier with her.

Glad you found a good home for him. I know how stressful that can be.

That's very comforting to hear you found a person who clicked with him. Hopefully that will turn in to a beautiful friendship. Your horse will be happy, you will have done something very noble for him by allowing him to do what he's happy doing, and you will get to pursue your dressage. I know you're sad, but it sounds like a win-win once some time passes.

Have followed your progress with Cinny for the last few years. Sad, in a way, to hear that you've found him a new home, but not a bad thing for you or him. I sold my old quarter horse, who taught me loads and I loved her dearly, but I wanted to do dressage and she hated it. She was bought by a lady who wanted something sensible to jump a little bit and potter about on trail rides, both of which my QH loved, and I bought a horse who didn't think dressage was the worst thing anyone had ever made her do. I still have that horse, 15 years later, and my QH's owner had her own lovely field to retire her on.

If you have come to love something your horse strongly dislikes, then selling him to someone whose goals line up with the horse's likes is the kind and loving thing to do. Good luck to you both!

I, too have been following your posts & knew you were struggling w/the love for Cinny & your love for dressage-which is not his strong point. I am happy that you may have a great outcome for both of you & the next owner also. Do you have any dressage prospects on the horizon? Good luck to all involved.

I too have followed your threads. I agree, you two were just to different to ever be fully happy with one another.

Fate is funny. Your horse is out there somewhere, just bide your time and she/he will appear and it will all make sense.

There aren't any on the near horizon. My husband and I are going to focus on buying a house and saving up an emergency savings account, that sort of thing. After that I will be looking for a Dressage horse. The lady that is leasing/buying Cin says she doesn't mind at all if I come down and visit/ride on occasion, even after she buys. She is a really sweet lady, one of those Kindred spirits. It's weird, she's one of those people that when you meet them, you feel like you have known them for longer. You know what I mean?
