Eh. I'm not minimizing but you may be overreacting. We've had a client doing time for murder. He did murder the guy but the circumstances are such that it was understandable. Could be the same for this guy.

As for the angry outbursts, everyone will have a different opinion on that. My dad was a drill seargant and my husband is bipolar so angry people don't have any impact on me.

Read. Lots of reading. Also, they sell ACT study books. Get that and a workbook and go through it.

No, I'm not overreacting. I have seen it first hand. He has stalked multiple people at the barn and they have moved. When I started talking to this other guy at the barn he told the guy he couldn't take to me.

I try to stick with things and not let it bug me but this is more than that :/

I do agree that just because you have a criminal record doesn't mean you're a horrible person. It definitely depends on the situation.

However, everything you've said about this particular guy gives me the heeby jeebies. I don't like it.

Great question. I'm not entirely sure, since I don't feel like I understand your dad's reasoning to staying at the barn.

Maybe catch your dad in a good mood, tell him you'd like to better understand his reasoning, and ask him if he'd explain it to you. As someone before mentioned, don't whine or get emotional. Just be as calm and open as you can while he's explaining, and don't put your two cents in until he has completely finished. When it is your turn, say something like "I'm glad to know how you feel." Then calmly explain your side, mentioning that being around that guy makes you uncomfortable, and for your safety sake, you'd like to distance yourself a bit. The more you can turn it into a 'discussion' and less of an argument/battle, I think he'd be more willing to work with you.

It could very well be that fathers just don't share all of their information / concerns / worries with their children.
