Lightbulb Community pot: odd secrets to the horse world-money saving tips

Hi, not only am I looking for answers for myself, but for the rest of us also! It's time to collaborate some of the recipes and secrets of the horse world.

Whether it's a mixture for wounds or a feed through for the coat, I want to hear it!

It can be a natural replacement to supplements (like devils claw is good for the joints) or a grooming mix that works like a charm, or something to boost their health.

Please submit it in this form only- Devils Claw- it is good for joints (doesn't need to be bold)

And under that you can explain if you want-

Devils Claw- is very good for joints

I had an old gelding who had sore joints. A friend recommended me to try devils claw instead of supplements. It works really well! You can get it at an herb shop or from an herb dealer.

If you have multiple suggestions, just stack them.

    Peppermint oil-

Add a few drops of peppermint oil (and maybe some baby oil for softness) to a bucket of bubbles that are just normal concentrated soap. It leaves them smelling good and as soft as ever!

I will thank you in advance for coming and visiting this thread!!

A mix of listerine and water in a spray bottle cleared up a nasty case of rain rot in a hurry for me.

Also, psyllium or Metamucil (equate brand is fine too) instead of sand clear.

For horses with feathers: Listerine -- prevents bugs from growing in them (and makes them smell fresh)
There's a horse that has feathers where I board and every once in a while we put Listerine in them to keep them clean

Pasture board can be your friend -- if your horse can stand to be out 24/7 you'll have a lesser board bill, and they won't eat as much feed

There was one other thing but I'm having a brain fart so if I remember I'll be sure to post.
