This was what I'm afraid of.
I don't want her to think I'm going to bother her or even go visit him because I'm not. And if she sends pictures of him, I'll probably never email her again. It's just when I originally got him last October, he was very unhealthy and already had his winter coat, and so when I gave him to her I never got to see what he looked like shed-out or see him at his full weight.

That's crazy, she actually would ask to come over and ride her. That would drive me insane.

That's exactly how I feel. The two other horses I have sold, I see their owners all the time, so occasionally I'll just ask, "So, how's ______ doing?" But I don't bug 'em to death. If I trusted them enough to let them buy my horse, I shouldn't have to check up on them constantly.

Maybe just send one more email just requseting to see how he turned out you can't force her to send pictures however.

O she text and text and text or would turn up if im having a lesson on her and ask me if she can have a little go so I tootally ignore her now as I feel she is to pushy

I've wondered about this too. I've seen similar threads on the issue and seen the whole "It's not your horse anymore, don't bother them" thing. I found my old horse's owner on facebook, and things like that have keep me from friending her. I wouldn't bug her about the horse but I would like to know how she's doing. But I sold my horse 6 years ago and haven't ever had any contact with this woman. I have my reasons, but they aren't ones I'd feel like sharing with her. I would say that if she promised to contact you about the horse then you should be fine in contacting her. Just say something along the lines of "Never heard from you about *horse*. Just wondering how he's doing." If she had a problem with letting you know about the horse then she wouldn't/shouldn't have promised the email.

I'm just curious about how well he's doing, and I was really looking forward to seeing the pictures. I know some people who do it, but I don't know... Would you find it weird if one of your horse's old owners called/emailed you?
Well if she said she would, then you contacting her shouldn't be an issue. If it were a sale and then no offers were made to keep in touch then it's a different issue. I would definitely send her an email or give them a call to get some news. If they don't reply or ask you to not contact them(which would be rude on their end), then follow their request, otherwise its possible they got busy, or perhaps lost your contact info?
