Cookies for everyone! I DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Hehe...sorry I'm overly excited and happppppppppppppppy

Well today Sonny was GREAAAAAAT. I mean I think this is the BEST day I had with him since I bought him!!!!!!!!
I got my AWESOME Tacky Too bareback pad in the mail this morning (WHICH I ABSOLUTELY's super-de-dooper comfortable and it looks soooo snazzy on Sonny) so I rode in it today.
At first I just worked on stretching, neckreining and just full out listening to cues. I didn't have to do hardly ANY corrections at all...I think I did 1 correction and that was simply to turn to the left.
Then I started working on trotting (keeping my balance for me and neckreining for Sonny). He listened well and even did the small circle that I wanted. After he did that I immediately stopped him and praised the CRAP out of him (he was glaring at me when I didn't stop praising him "OMG mom just shut up, I get it, I was a good boy" lol).
Then guess what? I got brave....I CANTERED HIM BAREBACK!!!! WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
No problems at ALL....he went at a controlled speed, which I was soooooooo happy about he didn't try to rush it or take advantage of me since I was a little frightened.

AND to make matters EVEN BETTER he even neckreined a circle for me IN A CANTER!

OMG I'm soooo freaken proud of him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cookies, cake, soda, wine, dinner, desert for everyone....
And apples, carrots, mints, and sugar cubes for the horses!!!

So today was yet, the BEST day since I bought him! He's COME soooooooooo far since I bought him, and I have to admit I have to. From the pathetic rider that knew nothing (though I thought I did), to the one who was afraid to canter, to the one that just wanted her horse to listen and would do anything to make him, to the one that couldn't do anything on a horse unless she was in a saddle, to one that can w/t/c bareback!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll get the pictures and the video up soon

Glad you had such a great time! Days like that make you really love horses!

I'm also happy that you like that Tacky-Too bareback pad! I saw it and wanted to get it. I'm guessing you would reccomend it then, no?

Yes I recommend it!! It didn't slip even when I started slipping lol. It's greatly made...and garunteed (yeah I know I spelled that wrong) for life...other than it being chewed or stepped on or whatever like that

Three cheers for Sonny! I'm so jealous I will gallop at top speed with a saddle but haven't gone bareback passed a fast walk.
Isn't it great when they do things perfect? It sounds like he is much happier at his new place and feeling good.

Wait 'til you start galloping bareback. It's the best high you can ever get. haha. Of course, it still lets you stay in control of your senses.

But I'm soo happy for you! I absolutely love to ride bareback. Actually just rode Ruby bareback 2 hours ago. And good job on the neck reining!
