The coolest thing happened last week...

Ok, so I meant to post this last Sunday when I was really excited about it, but I forgot and got busy so here it is...
I bought my Quarter horse in October 2011 from some trainers down in middle Tennessee. According to them, and his papers, he originally came from Florida. I saw that he had two owners down there, then went to TN. So I started searching around on the internet to see if I could find any more old info on him from down there. I'd been doing that for quite a while when last Sunday I typed in the last owner in FL and found her Facebook page. Same name, same place in Florida, so I sent her a friend request. She accepted, and sure enough it was her! Before I got to tell her who I was she was on my profile looking at pictures of Ace (my horse) and asking me how he was doing. Then, by extreme luck, I found his first owner and breeder, sent her a friend request, and she found out who I was and started asking me all about Ace too. She was so excited that I found her because she said she still thinks of Ace a lot and wondered what happened to him and if he went to a good home. She only sold him because he wasn't the WP horse she wanted (he liked English) but she regretted selling him. So we got talking, looking at pictures...and she had pictures of him when he was a baby! She also had pictures of his dam, and she still has her now. Then I found all sorts of people down there that know this woman and knew Ace when he was a baby and they were all excited that we had connected. I told them that I would keep them utd on Ace and his progress, and they're going to send me more baby pictures of him. This was just the most awesome thing at the time because I had been looking for these people for a long time and finally found them! I haven't had a Facebook very long so that's probably why...so now finally we all know each other, I know more about how he was trained and what they did with him, and they know that he found a good home :)
Just thought I'd share, sorry that it's so long. But if you've read this far and have had a similar experience feel free to share!

Oh, and here's his baby pictures :)
Day old, named him "Ace" because of the ace of spades on his forehead

Cool!

And is it me, or does his dam look RIPPED in that photo? lol!

It's so neat to find the old owners, and keep in touch with them. I've found the old owners of my buckskin mare, Cookie, on Facebook. I didn't friend her though. Mainly because I found out that she and her husband have been involved in smuggling rhino horns to China. Her husband is being prosecuted over it, too...

So although I am curious as to what western pleasure shows my horse competed in, and how she did in them, I think I'd break down and start the conversation as, "So, how's the rhino horn business coming along?" Lol!

That is so awesome!! Congrats on finding them. His baby pics are sooooooo cute. Does he still have the Ace on his forehead?

I think his dam is "ripped" also. It's always nice to find out the history of your horse, especially when it's a good one.

Yes, I found out he got a good start in WP, was trail ridden and desensitized, was ridden by small children, jumped, did HUS, and gave lessons.
