Could me horse be gay?

Okay, okay, I know this sounds SO immature, but I am seriously curious. I have had my gelding for 10 years now (since he was just a wee one). Over the years, we have had a few horses, and he's been around a number of other horses with some regularity....He generally doesn't like other horses, he isn't aggressive, just has kind of a "grumpy old man" attitude.
Since I have had him though, there have been three horses that he has been absolutely enamored with. First, it was my friends appendix gelding (who passed), then it was my QH gelding (who also passed), NOW it is my new Hanoverian gelding....All three have a few things in common; they are a little bit older, are over 15.2hh, and are dark bays. He seriously has a type, and does this super marish whinny at them, and will follow them everywhere (past tense for the dead ones)....I think it is hilarious and adorable, especially because he is a small (14.2h), plump morab.

Lol that is so cute! I don't think horses can be gay, although I have seen a stallion mate with a gelding before, but maybe it was for dominance idk. But geldings can become good friends with eachother and I have seen them act like that. Is there any mares around?

While homosexuality IS observed in animals... I think he just made good friends and maybe was a tad buddy sour with them. Horses - breeding wise - don't have a type. They'll breed whatever is available without bias LOL

Did you mean to write 'me' instead of 'my' in your title? Because I totally read it in a pirate voice in my head.

I have two mares who are totally les for each other. It's the funniest thing. They all bow up and get snorty just like studs do when I put them together, the bigger mare mounts the other one, and they are stuck like glue together...So ridiculous they are, lol

You've described a type, could be there was one horse in the past he was 'buddies' with and now he's searching for and keeps 'finding' that same buddy

Some animals do exhibit homosexual tendencies, but animals don't feel 'love' in the same way humans do, your horse isn't gay.

My horse totally does this! If we haul out and we see a horse that resembles a herd mate of his, he perks up and is totally fixated on them. I swear he looks so dissapointed when he realizes its just a strange horse.

I have a very feminine cat who was cryptorchid and my entire family has come to the conclusion that he's gay. He fights endlessly with my female cat, but my other male cat is his BFF and cuddle buddy till the end.

I used to know a stallion that had to be "teased" by geldings if you wanted to get him to breed. His owner would have someone walk a gelding close by a few times and then promptly put the mare in front of the stallion. He almost never bred without a gelding first

I don't think the OP's horse sounds gay but this one does!
