Hey guys! So it was my birthday a couple days ago and for my birthday present my parents are going to get me some new boots because my old ones are leaking and are worn out and stuff. Anyways, I've been going into shows lately and I have been wearing my paddock boots to both english and western classes. I can't wear cowboy boots in english classese though I'm almost positive. My question is what type of boots should I get? Should I get paddock boots for my birthday and then buy cowboy boots myself or should I just get paddock boots and wear them to both english and western or what should I do? I'm not sure if there's a majour point in this thread but I thought I'd post it anyways. Thanks a lot!

While an average pair of cowboy boots go for 115.00 dollars, paddock boots go for 50-80 dollars. I'd say (if you didn't have enough money for cowboy boots/ wanted both, which you would probably enjoy, i know i do) get the cowboys for your b-day, and you purchase paddock boots

I agree with LD! Ask your mom for the more expensive cowboy boots for your birthday. This way you will have something to wear to Western shows and you can still use your worn out paddock boots to the english shows. So, if your mom gets the cowboy boots, you can save up the money to get some padock boots :)

I know what thats like. I have abnormally huge feet for girls. They almost didn't have any size for me at the tack shops. I got their last (and largest) size. I hope my feet don't grow :P To add tot hat, I CAN NOT wear tall boots! My feet just don't go into them and I cant zip up!

I'm a size 8 ladies or so. Sometimes I can go higher than that. It really probably shouldn't be hard for me to find boots in that size but they just don't have any. It's rather odd. I'm gonna start looking online soon. My boots are driving me crazy. one boot only has one string as the other snapped and both are leaking like crazy. And I mean leaking as in trotting-through-a-puddle-on- my-14hh-pony-and-getting-a-few-drops-of-water-on-my-boots-makes-it-leak-through kind of leaking. it's very annoying
hmm... that's weird. Do you have larger calves? that might be why it won't zip up. I have large calves and I have a harder time zipping up boots too. even my half chaps. I'm 5'2" and I have a pair of stretched size medium half chaps.

My feet are different each time. Sometimes they wont fit a size 10 and other times it wil be like a size 7  Most of the time I am a size 9 womens. My Ariats are size 10 I think but my Old Wests are size nine (they are big because I needed 8 1/2). I was trying to get some winter tall boots and my foot wouldn't even go in. I am not sure if I have big calves, but I think I do. i think my real problem is that my feet aren't LONG just WIDE. So it is hard to find boots that fit my WIDE foot but still SHORT enough to stay on :P

I don't know if u understood that!

lol no no I understood it :) hmm...that's weird. My feet are extremely narrow so my problem is more that things don't want to stay on. Although all the boots that I tried on at the tack stores I couldn't get my foot in. Either that or that they would fall off my foot because they were so big.

HeeHee must be one of the mysteries of feet :P Youre never on anymore when I am! Ahhh if you were on when i was then we could talk about our feet problems together :P

Any luck on finding boots yet?

nope not yet. well then again we've been too busy to look at the moment with all this moving stuff around and stuff. We didn't have internet connection for a few days so that would explain the not being on at the same time because I haven't been on at all :p but I'm sure we'll see eachother on soon now that I have the connection back. :)

We have a GreenHawks about 40 minutes away so maybe I can look there... We have a Horse Central Tack and The Mill Store here... theres also an Abby's Tack store near the GreenHawks... and there's one super small one but it's not very good I don't even know the name.

Hopefully they aren't ruined lol! I wouldn't know what one because I've never had tall boots before.
